Trunk Type:

Thin trunk, prominent rings.

Leaf Type:

Pinnate (feather shape) with very thin leaflets. The petioles (leafstalk) get a white, chalky substance on them that can be wiped clean with the finger, thus the name "glauc"ifolia.

Suckering/Solitary:

Solitary (single trunk).

To 16 to 18 feet

Soil requirements:

Rich, well draining

Sun requirements:

Usually filtered light. Along the Coast, will tolerate near full sun, but not as much as Chamaedorea plumosa.

General Description:

A fast growing, thin, fluffy pinnate palm that every garden should have. They get quite tall with skinny trunks , so it is best to plant multiples so you get a fuller clump. Easily set seeds if male and female in close proximity.
