Papa New Guinea

Cold Hardiness: 

Uncertain if it will tolerate cooler sub-tropical areas. 

Trunk type:

Slender and tall; leaves and crown shaft have are a dark green color.

Leaf type:

Pinnate (feather shaped). Leaves have a glossy green color.

Suckering/Solitary:

Solitary (single trunk).

Maintenance:

Average

Speed of growth:

Moderate

Height:

Taller than the A. catechu, possibly to 30 feet.

Soil requirements:

Moist soil and high humidity, needs plenty of water in dry months.

Sun Requirements:

Sun or filtered.

General Description:

Similar to the Betel Nut Palm.
