Locality:

Thailand and Malaysia

Cold Hardiness: 

About freezing, but probably 34, F. Is frost tolerant.

Trunk type:

Single trunk with attached leaf bases.

Leaf type:

Large,  spreading,  palmate (fan shape) leaves.

Suckering/Solitary:

Solitary (single trunk).

Maintenance:

Easy in tropical areas, in cooler areas it is difficult.

Speed of growth:

Slow to medium in the right areas.

Height:

Approximately 15' feet, perhaps taller.

Soil requirements:

High level of moisture in soil, good drainage and lots of water.

Sun Requirements:

Filtered light.

General Description:

A gorgeous fan palm for semi-tropical areas.  If you can grow it, you will love it.

Likes moist, humid conditions.
