Reunion Island, Mascarene Islands (East of Africa & Madagascar Island).

General Description:

A unique and beautiful palm that is totally unique the bottle and spindle palm.  There is no bulge at the base.  However, in its own right is absolutely gorgeous and becoming very popular.  The trunk has a bit of a bulge, but not too prominent.

Other Notes:

There appears, at seedling stage, to be a green stemmed form and a red-black stemmed form.  However, with age, they look more similar than different.  The red-black form is somewhat more cold hardy.
