Africa

Cold Hardiness: 

28-30 F.

Trunk type:

Rough, tall for a Hyphanae, and often do not branch (whereas other Hyphanae species do branch).  Can get a bulge in the trunk.

Palmate (fan shape)

Suckering/Solitary:

Single trunk or branching 

Maintenance:

Easy, providing growing conditions right.

Speed of growth:

Medium

Height:

30 feet

Soil requirements:

Sandy soil, good drainage, likes to be dry during the colder months.

Sun Requirements:

Must have full and hot sun

General Description:

Often a single trunk and tall Hyphanae species.

Other Notes:

Long tap root when germinating.  Can be difficult to establish.
