General Description:

A very attractive medium to large palm that will eventually be a canopy former. However, because of its somewhat slow growth rate, it is not a quick canopy former. It is very beautiful and graceful. Sets seed easily. People love the prominent crownshaft and its overall shape. To tell it from R. sapida, look for some bare petiole, a slight recurve, and a smaller thickness of the crown shaft.

Further Data:

The Rhapalostylis sapida is a stiffer appearing palm with a more "V-shaped" crown. A similar "species" known as "Rhopalostylis cheesemanii" is similar to R. bauerii, perhaps a variety of bauerii.
