Most people realize that
the garden is a sanctuary and nice escape from the stresses of these
current times. It’s an activity that you can enjoy without leaving
the house – fun without risk.
At the same time, gardeners may be reluctant to travel
or go to a business.
To relieve people’s reticence on visiting a
business, we wanted to mention several things unique to our Nursery.
These minimize a customer’s risk of shopping. Visiting our nursery
is a lot less risk to you than going to your crowded local grocery
store. Since we implemented these policies as of
February, 2020, we've not had one case of documented Covid contraction
that is documented to be related to our nursery or staff. (date of update 3 September, 2021)
We follow publicized
COVID-19 precautions and keep social distances from our customers.
There’s nothing but clean fresh air and
plants at our nursery.
But, there are other things we do, described
below, that absolutely minimize shopping risks to our customers.
1.
ASSISTANCE IN SELECTION OF PLANTS
We can guide you on selection of plants and
culture over the phone, by email or at the nursery. At the nursery
we all wear masks and keep a minimum of six feet distance from
customers.
2.
CONSULTATION SERVICES
Also, we can assist
with garden design and layout. These are free services that we
offer at the nursery. For a fee, we also offer onsite consultations where you
don’t leave your home. Our consultants of course wear masks and
keep social distance.
3.
PLANTS READY WITH CURBSIDE PICK UP
We can pull
all your chosen pre-paid plants and have them ready for pick up in our driveway.
Appointments can be made for a pick up time. We can load your
vehicle and you’d be gone in minutes and literally not have to get out
of your car. No risk of visiting us this way.
4.
DELIVERY TO YOUR HOME
You
can select plants over the phone or by email and we can deliver them
right to your home or business. Plants can be left at your
curbside or in your driveway by us or a delivery trucking service.
This way a customer can purchase plants and literally not have to travel
at all.
5.
SHIPPING AND MAIL ORDER RIGHT TO YOUR DOOR
When needed,
we can ship plants to anywhere in the country. Plants must be a
shippable size.
We utilize UPS for this service. Although ideal for customers out
of our area, we can also ship locally. Unique to our Nursery is
that plants are shipped in their containers with soil and all needed Ag
permits.
6.
FORMS OF PAYMENT
We accept
all forms of payment including all major credit cards, checks, cash or
PayPal. This can be done over the phone with credit cards or
digitally with PayPal. If you prepay for the plants, you'd not
even have to enter the nursery.
7.
HAND SANITIZER
We offer an alcohol based hand sanitizer on request to any nursery
visitor and keep a bottle near the credit card machine. Also,
staff use it frequently.
8.
N95 MASKS
All of our staff utilize N95 masks. This not only
protects our staff but also protects you. The commonly
seen blue cheap masks don't protect you nearly as well as the tight
fighting and more dense N95 masks. You've probably noted how the
loose cheap masks are separated from the cheeks and chin. With a
cheap mask, exhaled breaths can sneak out of the margins of the mask.
N95 masks are much better at confining one's own exhaled breath.
9. EDUCATION
Phil
Bergman, a recently retired Emergency Physician and Owner of our
nursery, is
more than
willing to explain to visitors/customers the importance of following
Covid
precautions
and why Covid infections are a potential serious risk to all - including
younger
people.

SOCIAL DISTANCING, AND OTHER PRECAUTIONS. WE ASK ALL
CUSTOMERS TO WEAR A MASK WHEN VISITING THE NURSERY.

REALIZE THAT POTENTIAL SPREAD OF THE VIRUS IS EVER-PRESENT.
WE HAVE CONTINUED THROUGHOUT AND TO NOW OUR POLICIES TO REQUIRE
MASK WEARING OF ALL STAFF AND CUSTOMERS, SURFACE CLEANING AND
ADEQUATE SOCIAL DISTANCING. WE STILL ASK CUSTOMERS TO WEAR

our nursery. Our goal is to keep everyone safe from COVID. We are plush with desirable species and our inventory
is very expansive. Plants are fun, good for the environment and a nice stress release for everyone.
If you visit, we trust that you'll find that all the policies above are
active and implemented.
