In business since 1977, our Encinitas based nursery is just twenty minutes north of San Diego.  It has acquired the reputation of being a world-wide recognized supplier of the most unusual and rare species of palms, cycads and tropical plants anywhere.  We were one of the first specialty palm and cycad nurseries in Southern California.  We offer over 1000 species with a quarter million plants for sale.  Sizes range from seedlings up to boxed specimens.  At our nursery one can find species that are nowhere else available.  Located just off the freeway in Encinitas, CA, we are close to everyone and offer over a quarter million plants for sale at our 2 acre location.

We have been in our present Encinitas location for almost twenty years and were previously located in San Diego. Our nursery has two and a half acres just minutes off Freeway 5 (see link to map below). At our nursery we have interior greenhouse grower areas, outdoor growing locations, a display garden and an education center.

There's over fifty articles on palm trees, cycads and tropical plants covering their characteristics, culture and usage in the landscape. PLANTS

Our specialty is palm trees and cycads. We also supply tropical plants with an emphasis on tropical color. On most material we propagate the plants ourselves and grow them locally. We do this from seeds we get from all over the world or from seedlings. Some of our color is imported from more tropical areas like Hawaii. We sell seedlings in the "band size" on up to 24 inch boxed specimens. Larger sizes are available on request from other local growers.

PALM TREES

We grow 800 different species of palms that will grow in Southern California. This includes smaller and larger plants that you've never seen anywhere! There are plants for sun and shade. And, plants that stay small or get large. We specialize in plants that you'll not find in the "Big Box Stoes" so that your garden can be unique and different. These include dwarf sun loving species and desert palms. We also have a great selection of shade loving palms, both dwarf species and tall, bamboo type palms. We offer over 800 species of palms in a whole assortment of sizes. You can search every nursery in San Diego County and nowhere will you see the same variety we offer on a daily basis.

CYCADS

We grow cycads from seeds but also, over the years, have imported many exciting species as actual plants or caudexes. Cycads are the most coveted, protected and historically significant plants that exist on this planet. They have evolved little since the time of the dinasaurs. We actively purchase domestic collections. All this results in our offering to you species that you've probably never seen before. You no longer have to be content with the common Sago Palm. We have plants of all sizes and appearances, something right for everyone's budget. Included in our inventory are the very sought after blue African Cycads. Interesting seedlings are always available. We feel we have the most extensive offering of unusual and rare cycads of any San Diego nursery.

TROPICAL PLANTS

Our nursery attempts to offer customers the finest of colorful tropical plants, especially colorful items. This includes typically an assortment of

Ti, Heliconia, Bromeliads, Croton, Ferns, Philodendron and many other tropical companion plants.

Many people visit for these plants alone. Although we are a based in Encinitas, it is important to realize that many tropical species won't grow in all localities of Southern California. We can offer advice as to the types best suited for your individual climate and sun exposure.

Palm Trees: In general, on the rare palms we carry, prices typically are band size $55, 1g $65, 2g, $75, 5g $25 - $155, 15g $175 to $255
Cycads: Plants are sold according to their rarity and caudex size. Range is $55 to several thousand for old specimen plants.
