Cold Hardiness: 

Tolerates approximately 26-28, F.

Trunk type:

Tall, single and slender trunk; has a purplish-green colored crownshaft.

Leaf type:

Pinnate (feathered shaped) leaf, dark green leaf with glaucous/whitish color on the underside of the leaflets.


Solitary (single trunk).


Easy to grow

Speed of growth:

Slow to medium.


 Up to 40' feet.                                                                        

Soil requirements:

Average moisture, good drainage. 

Sun Requirements:

Coastal, full sun; inland part day sun.  May look best in part day sun along the coast.

General Description:

A gorgeous King Palm, has a unique purple colored crown shaft and silver color on the underside of the leaflets.

Other Notes:

 Takes several years to develop the reddish purple crown shaft color.
