Central America, Columbia, Venezuela

This palm has a clean woody trunk.  The trunk is 8-10 inches in diameter.

Slow to moderate

25-30 feet.

Rich + good drainage

Partial or full sun

General Description:

This is probably the most tropical looking Sabal.  It has a silver underside to the leaf.  It is very different looking from the other Sabals; it almost has a Licuala looking leaf.  Is a good grower for Southern California.

Other Notes:

This palm is one of the more popular Sabals.  It is definitely a worth fan palm for any garden.
